Code 62 - Tachometer Pulses/VIN P Engine: Notes

EBCM uses tachometer pulses to monitor engine RPM to aid in controlling ASR rates and methods when ASR is operating.

SERVICE ASR indicator light will illuminate and Code 62 will be set if there is a short to ground, short to battery voltage or an open in circuit No. 121.

1. Checks for proper operation of instrument panel tachometer. If tachometer works properly, code was probably set because of an open between common connection point of instrument panel tachometer wiring and circuit No. 121 wiring at bulkhead connector terminal G1.
2. Checks for short to battery voltage in circuit No. 121.
3. Checks for short to ground in circuit No. 121.
