- If CHECK OIL indicator remains lit or comes on for about 1.5 seconds when ignition switch is first turned to RUN position, go to step 4). If CHECK OIL indicator does not function as described, go to next step.
- Remove IPC. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and IPC connector C2 terminal No. 5 (Pink wire). See Figure. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Pink wire.
- Measure voltage at IPC connector C1 terminal No. 1 (Orange wire). If battery voltage is not present, repair or replace printed circuit. If battery voltage is present, check bulb. If bulb is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) R & I under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- If indicator remains on when oil level is okay, go to step 6). If indicator does not remain on when oil level is okay, disconnect oil level switch connector and remove ALARM fuse for 30 seconds. Replace fuse.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If CHECK OIL indicator is on, replace oil level switch. If CHECK OIL indicator is not on, check wiring. If wiring is okay, replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) R & I under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Disconnect oil level switch connector. Connect a fused jumper between oil level switch connector terminal "B" (Brown wire) and ground. Remove ALARM fuse for 30 seconds and reinstall. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- If CHECK OIL indicator is on, repair open in Black wire between oil level switch connector and ground. If Black wire is okay, replace IPC. If CHECK OIL indicator is not on, connect fused jumper wire between oil level switch connector terminals "B" (Brown wire) and "A" (Black wire). Remove alarm fuse for 30 seconds, then replace..
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If CHECK OIL indicator is on, repair open circuit in Black wire. If CHECK OIL indicator is not on, replace oil level switch.
