Code 144/145 - Rear TCS Channel Will Not Move - (With TCS): Notes

Detects a stuck TCS motor or a seized hydraulic modulator. During initialization or after a TCS cycle, EBTCM commands TCS motor in the reverse and forward direction to ensure that motor moves properly. If TCS motor does not move, improper current feedback will be detected by EBTCM, and code will set.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests. For identification of circuits and terminals referenced in charts and text, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

  1. Checks for proper TCS motor movement during apply and release commands from Tech 1 scan tool.
  2. Verifies that TCS motor can actually apply when commanded.
  3. Compares EBTCM command current to motor feedback current.
  4. Checks for short between TCS motor high and TCS motor low circuits.
  5. Checks if TCS motor is internally shorted.
  6. Determines if malfunction is caused by a defective EBTCM or poor terminal contact.
