WARRANTY POLICY U.S.
ELECTRONIC & MECHANICAL PUMP
The exchange program listed in Bulletin Number 57-63-04C for fuel injection pumps has ended and the bulletin should be discarded. The Stanadyne fuel injection pump continues to be covered for 5 years or 100,000 miles under terms of the 6.5L GM diesel engine warranty. Stanadyne continues to warrant the injection pump for the first 3 years or 50,000 miles of use. Only when a failure is found from the test as received injection pump unit (i.e.; Stanadyne dealer will test injection pump, if failure found on the test), is the component covered under the Stanadyne warranty. During the Stanadyne portion of the warranty, the pump will be repaired on a "fix as failed" basis. However, a GM dealer can request upgrades to the injection pump but it will be a chargeable transaction from the Stanadyne Dealer if those components did not fail Stanadyne testing.
The Stanadyne servicing dealer will continue to require a properly completed warranty claim form GSD 675 (Chevrolet) or T and B 421 (GMC), see Fig 1 and Fig 2 , during Stanadyne's portion of the warranty (first 3 years or 50,000 miles).
INJECTION PUMP UPGRADES
GM dealers should refer to their appropriate divisional DCS message dated January 29, 1998 for information regarding all injection pump upgrades.
REPAIRS RESULTING FROM FUEL CONTAMINATION
Injection pump damage from fuel contamination such as water or gasoline are not covered under either the Stanadyne or GM warranty.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN 94-C-57A
This campaign remains active for all remaining eligible vehicles. Stanadyne dealers will still provide an exchange pump free of charge to the GM dealer. A request for warranty form indicating "campaign 94C57" must be written on the form and submitted to the Stanadyne dealer.
WARRANTY PROCESSING
GM dealers should refer to their appropriate divisional DCS message dated January 29, 1998 for information regarding the submission of warranty claims on a Stanadyne injection pump repair either during of after the expiration of the Stanadyne portion (3 years, 50,000 miles) of the warranty.
