Removal & Installation: Notes

WARNING: Before servicing instrument panel components on vehicles with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system, disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAIN SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on instrument panel without deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION section before disconnecting battery.
