Test No 4
- Perform BCM SYSTEM CHECK in BODY CONTROL MODULE article.
- Perform BCM INPUT/OUTPUT TEST under SYSTEM TESTING. If security indicator light does not illuminate during BCM Input/Output Test NO 6, go to next step. If light illuminates, go to step 8).
- Disconnect security indicator light connector. Connect a test light between security indicator light harness connector terminal "B" (Orange wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair Orange wire between security indicator light and 10-amp RADIO BATT fuse in underhood junction block. After repairs, go to step 9).
- Using DVOM set to DIODE scale, connect positive lead to terminal "B" and negative lead to terminal "A" of security indicator light. If security indicator light illuminates, go to next step. If security indicator light does not illuminate, replace security indicator light. After repairs, go to step 9).
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C2. Using a DVOM, check voltage between BCM connector C2 terminal D15 (Yellow wire) and ground. If voltage does not exist, go to next step. If voltage exists, repair short to voltage on Yellow wire between BCM connector C2 terminal D15 and security indicator light terminal "A". After repairs, go to step 9).
- Using a DVOM, check continuity of Yellow wire between BCM connector C2 terminal D15 and ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, repair short to ground on Yellow wire between BCM connector C2 terminal D15 and security indicator light terminal "A". After repairs, go to step 9).
- Using a DVOM, check continuity of Yellow wire between BCM connector C2 terminal D15 and security indicator light terminal "A". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open circuit in Yellow wire between BCM connector C2 terminal D15 and security indicator light terminal "A". After repairs, go to step 9).
- Recheck CTD by performing CTD SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTING. If system is okay, problem does not exist at this time. Go to next step. If system is not okay, check BCM and security indicator light connectors. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, replace BCM. After replacing BCM, go to step 9).
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all connectors and components. Turn ignition switch to RUN position for 6 seconds. Turn ignition off. Remove BCM PRGRM fuse. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. BCM should flash seat belt indicator and sound chime 4 times. Within one second, turn ignition switch from ACC to LOCK, then back to ACC position. BCM will sound any stored DTCs. If any DTCs are stored, see BODY CONTROL MODULE article. If BCM DTCs do not exist, system is okay.
