Test No 7

  1. Test parking lights. If parking lights come on, go to next step. If parking lights does not come on, repair circuit as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Perform BCM INPUT/OUTPUT TEST  under SYSTEM TESTING. If exterior lights do not illuminate during BCM Input/Output Test No. 4, go to next step. If exterior lights illuminate during BCM Input/Output Test No. 4, go to step 8).
  3. If BCM SYSTEM CHECK was performed, go to step 4). If BCM SYSTEM CHECK was not performed, perform check. See BODY CONTROL MODULE article.
  4. Disconnect BCM connector C2. Using a fused jumper wire, momentarily connect BCM harness connector C2 terminal D11 (White wire) to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If exterior lights do not illuminate, go to next step. If lights illuminate, go to step 9).
  5. Disconnect theft deterrent relay from relay center. Connect test light between relay socket terminal B3 and ground. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair Orange wire between underhood junction block connector C2 terminal D1 and theft deterrent relay terminal B3. After repairs, go to step 10).
  6. Using fused jumper wire, connect theft deterrent relay socket terminals B1 and C3. If exterior lights illuminate, go to next step. If lights do not illuminate, repair Brown wire from theft deterrent relay terminal C3 to exterior lights. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  7. Remove fused jumper wire used in previous step. Using DVOM, check resistance of White wire between theft deterrent relay harness connector terminal C1 and BCM harness connector C2 terminal D11. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, replace relay. After replacing relay, go to step 10). If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, repair White wire as necessary. After repairs, go to step 10).
  8. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall BCM PRGRM fuse. Perform CTD SYSTEM CHECK  . If system is okay, problem is not present at this time. If system does not operate properly during system check, check BCM connectors. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, replace BCM. After replacing BCM, go to step 10).
  9. Reconnect BCM connector C2. Perform CTD SYSTEM CHECK  . If system is okay, problem is not present at this time. If system does not operate properly during system check, check BCM connectors. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, replace BCM. After replacing BCM, go to step 10).
  10. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all connectors and components. Turn ignition switch to RUN position for 6 seconds. Turn ignition off. Remove BCM PRGRM fuse. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. BCM should flash seat belt indicator and sound chime 4 times. Within one second, turn ignition switch from ACC to LOCK, then back to ACC position. BCM will sound any stored DTCs. If any DTCs are stored, see BODY CONTROL MODULE article. If BCM DTCs do not exist, system is okay.
