Fuel Pressure Regulator: Installation

- Lubricate NEW "O" rings with clean engine oil. Install back-up ring, upper "O" ring, filter and lower "O" ring. See Figure . Install fuel pressure regulator with vacuum tube pointing down toward retaining clip.
- Install fuel pressure regulator retaining clip. Install upper intake manifold assembly. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY . Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect negative battery cable.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position for 2 seconds. Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Check for fuel leaks. Repair as necessary. Install engine cover.
NOTE:
If reusing fuel pressure regulator, inspect filter screen for contamination. If filter screen is contaminated, replace fuel pressure regulator.
