DTC B1369: Ignition 0 Fault: Testing
- If Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located to left of steering column. Turn ignition on. Select BCM data inputs list. If IGNITION 0 INPUT is not active, go to next step. If IGNITION 0 INPUT is active, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Check IPC/BFC ACC fuse (10-amp) in left instrument panel junction block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 7 .
- Connect a test light between IPC/BFC ACC fuse terminal cavities in left instrument panel junction block. Turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Pink 24-pin BCM connector C3. Turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Gray 24-pin instrument panel connector. Turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to step 9 . If test light illuminates, go to step 12 .
- Remove IPC/BFC ACC fuse (10-amp) in left instrument panel junction block. Turn ignition on. Using a test light connected to ground, check for power at both IPC/BFC ACC fuse terminal cavities in left instrument panel junction block. If test light illuminates at one terminal, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate at either terminal, go to step 10 .
- Check for open circuit on Purple wire (Ignition 0) between left instrument panel junction block connector C1 terminal C9, BCM connector terminal A3 and instrument panel cluster connector terminal B9. See Figure . If no problem is found, go to step 13 . If open is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 15 .
- Repair short to ground on Ignition 0 circuit (Purple wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 15 .
- Repair open in power feed circuit to IPC/BFC ACC fuse (10-amp) in left instrument panel junction block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 15 .
- Check BCM and harness connector terminals for poor connections and damage. If no problem is found, go to step 13 . If any problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 15 .
- Check instrument cluster and harness connector terminals for poor connections and damage. If no problem is found, go to step 14 . If any problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 15 .
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under PROGRAMMING. After repair, go to step 15 .
- Replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - MALIBU article for procedure. After repair, go to next step.
- Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Perform BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS. If DTC resets, go to step 2 .
