System Check

Close all vehicle doors. Turn ignition on. SECURITY indicator should stay off. If does light not operate as specified, see SECURITY INDICATOR WARNING NOT OPERATING PROPERLY .
Roll down driver's window. Turn ignition off. Remove key from ignition. Open driver's door. SECURITY indicator should flash. If does light not operate as specified, see SECURITY INDICATOR WARNING NOT OPERATING PROPERLY .
Press the LOCK button on Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. SECURITY indicator should stay on. If does light not operate as specified, see SECURITY WARNING INDICATOR NOT OPERATING PROPERLY .
Close all doors. SECURITY indicator should turn off after 15 seconds. System is now armed. If does light not operate as specified, see SECURITY WARNING INDICATOR NOT OPERATING PROPERLY .
Activate alarm by doing the following:
- Reach in window and unlock door using power lock switch. Open door.
- Reach in window and unlock door using lock lever. Open door.
The horn should sound and exterior lights should flash. If alarm does not operate, see BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If horn does not operate as specified, diagnose and repair using appropriate wiring diagram. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. If exterior lights do not operate as specified, diagnose and repair using appropriate wiring diagram in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
Using key, unlock door. Alarm should disarm. If alarm does not disarm, see CTD DOES NOT DISARM WITH KEY LOCK and BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
Reset alarm. Activate alarm. Press UNLOCK button on RKE transmitter. Alarm should disarm. If alarm does not disarm, see CTD DOES NOT DISARM WITH KEY LOCK and BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
