Diagnosis & Testing: Notes

NOTE: To test electronic control of transaxle solenoids, sensors, transaxle range switch and wiring harness if symptoms are present without DTCs, see COMPONENT TESTS . If self-diagnostic system does not function or communication with PCM is not possible, see NO DATA LINK CONNECTOR DATA or NO MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT . After repairs, DTCs should be erased from computer memory. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .

NOTE: DTCs are recorded at various operating times. Some DTCs require operation of affected sensor or switch for 5 seconds; others may require operation for 5 minutes or longer at normal operating temperature, road speed and load. Therefore, some DTCs may not set in a service bay operational mode and may require road testing of vehicle in order to duplicate condition under which DTC will set.
