Test L: Key-In-Ignition Chime Inoperative
- If audible warnings system operation check has been performed, go to next step. If audible warnings system operation check has not been performed, perform audible warnings system operation check. See AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Insert key into ignition switch, and leave in LOCK position. Disconnect chime audio alarm module 7-pin harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and chime audio alarm module harness connector terminal No. 4 (Blue/Black wire). See Figure
. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 4
.
- Measure voltage between ground and junction block connector C2 by backprobing terminal No. 7 (Green wire). See Fig 1
. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 5
. If battery voltage exists, go to step 6
.
- Inspect chime audio alarm module harness connector for damaged terminals. If chime audio alarm module harness connector is okay, replace chime audio alarm module. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Measure voltage between ground and junction block harness connector C2 by backprobing terminal No. 5 (Green wire). See Fig 1
. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 7
. If battery voltage exists, go to step 8
.
- Disconnect junction block 20-pin harness connector C4. Measure resistance in Blue/Black wire between junction block harness connector C4 terminal No. 14 and chime audio alarm module harness connector terminal No. 4. See Figure
and Figure
. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 9
. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to step 10
.
- Inspect junction block connectors for loose or damaged terminals. If junction block connectors are okay, replace junction block. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Replace ignition-key warning switch. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Repair open in Blue/Black wire between chime audio alarm module and junction block. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Disconnect junction block 8-pin harness connector C2. Measure resistance between junction block harness connector C2 terminal No. 7 and junction block harness connector C4 terminal No. 14 (component side). See Figure
and Fig 1
. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 4
. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to step 7
. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
