Fuel Injector
Fuel injector(s) receive system voltage whenever ignition switch is in ON or START position. Fuel injector(s) are energized through a ground path provided by PCM. This opens the injector, allowing pressurized fuel to flow into intake manifold or cylinder. Air/fuel mixtures are controlled by fuel injector pulse width (on time). PCM determines proper pulse width based upon input signals from various sensors and switches.
Fuel injection timing is determined by PCM based upon RPM signals received from Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor, Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. For component locations, see Figure, Figure, Figure or Figure .
