Cruise Control Main Switch Indicator Always On
- Turn ignition switch to START position. Drive vehicle at more than 25 mph. Verify that cruise control system is operational and cruise control main switch indicator, located in main cruise control switch, is always illuminated. If cruise control main switch indicator is always illuminated, go to next step. If cruise control main switch indicator operates normally, problem is intermittent. See INTERMITTENT SIMULATION under DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect cruise control servo 12-pin harness connector. Cruise control servo is located on right side of engine compartment, near strut tower. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If main cruise control switch indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If main cruise control switch indicator does illuminate, go to step 4 .
- Disconnect cruise control main switch. Check continuity between ground and cruise control servo harness connector terminal No. 10 (Green/White wire). See Figure . If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, repair short to ground in Green/White wire between cruise control main switch and cruise control servo then retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Check system for intermittent problem. See INTERMITTENT SIMULATION under DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS. If problem still exists, go to next step. If problem is located, repair as necessary and retest system.
- Replace cruise control main switch and retest system. See CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
