Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement .
    NOTE:
    • Avoid pounding the bolts or any excessive force when installing the control arm to the frame.
    • Always inspect the frame attachment hole for elongation greater than 1 mm clearance around the bolt in any direction at any location. If 1 mm gap or other evidence of damage is detected, repair the frame as required. Refer to Structural Body Repair and Dimensions.
  2. Install the coil spring. Refer to Front Coil Springs Replacement .
  3. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Lower the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the lower control arm to the frame nuts to 155 N.m (115 lb ft).

  5. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS .
