Fan Shroud Replacement: Notes

CAUTION: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining & Filling Cooling System .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the retainers at the bottom of the cooling fan shroud.

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the right and the left engine mount struts.

    Refer to the following procedures:

  8. Remove the left front fender upper diagonal brace.
  9. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.
  10. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  11. Remove the PCM harness from the fan shroud clip.
  12. If equipped remove the cooling fan heat shields.
  13. Disconnect the cooling fan shroud electrical connectors.
  14. Remove the cooling fan shroud bolts.
  15. Disengage the cooling fan shroud clip from the top of the radiator.
  16. Remove the radiator upper support brackets that connect to the fan shroud.
  17. Remove the cooling fan shroud.
