Manual Transmission Clutches: Bleeding

CAUTION: DO NOT use fluid that you have bled from a system to fill reservoir. Fluid may be aerated or contaminated. Ensure no air is drawn into clutch hydraulic system during bleeding procedure.

Fill reservoir with NEW brake fluid. Use Delco Supreme(R) Brake Fluid, (1052535) or equivalent. Depress and hold down clutch pedal. Open bleed screw on clutch actuator cylinder in order to expel air. Close bleed screw then release clutch pedal. Repeat procedure until all air is out of clutch system. Check and refill reservoir as needed while bleeding. After bleeding, pump clutch pedal several times. If clutch engagement is not satisfactory, repeat bleeding procedure.
