Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Cadillac Eldorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With the aid of an assistant, place the hood (1) into position so the hinges line up with the wax pencil marks you made during removal.
  2. Install the 2 bolts on each side in order to retain the hinge to the hood.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  3. Install the 2 top assist rod clips.
  4. Install the underhood lamp electrical harness to the inner hood panel.
  5. Install the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement .
  6. Install the underhood lamp.
  7. Install the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (TL4) .
  8. Adjust the hood, if needed. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Fore/Aft)  or Hood Adjustment (Up/Down) .
  9. Remove the tape from the body panels and clean any tape residue remaining.
  10. Touch up any exposed or unpainted surfaces after the hood replacement with body color paint.
