Removal & Installation: Compressor: Installation

CAUTION:
NEW GM A/C compressors are shipped WITHOUT poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) oil. Use of the incorrect PAG oil can result in compressor failure.
- If a NEW A/C compressor is being installed, add 2 oz. (60 ml) of PAG oil to the compressor. If the original compressor is to be reused, add the same amount of oil removed from compressor. If less than 2.0 oz. (60ml), add oil to equal 2.0 oz. (60ml).
- Install the compressor through the wheelhouse extension. Install the front and rear compressor mounting bolts. tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the compressor electrical connector. Install NEW seal washers and connect the compressor hose assembly to the compressor. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the left engine oil cooler line at the oil filter adapter. Install the accessory drive belt.
- Recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Leak test system. See LEAK TESTING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
- If system is okay, install the fascia extension and engine splash shield.
