HVAC Module Assembly: Removal

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Recover the refrigerant. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
- Remove the I/P carrier support. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- Remove the air distributor duct. See AIR DISTRIBUTOR DUCT .
- Remove the air inlet assembly. See AIR INLET ASSEMBLY .
- Disconnect the electrical connector from HVAC module.
- Lower the engine and transmission assembly.
- Disconnect the A/C lines from the evaporator core, discard O-rings and remove the heater hoses from heater core.
- Remove the blower motor. See BLOWER MOTOR (MAIN) .
- Remove the evaporator drain. See Figure. Remove the evaporator outer cover.
- Remove the heater and evaporator module retaining nuts. Remove the heater and evaporator module assembly. See Figure.
