Installation Procedure

  1. Align the marks made on the pitman arm during removal in order to install the pitman arm on the pitman shaft.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the washer and the pitman arm retaining nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the pitman arm retaining nut to 250 N.m (185 lb ft).

  3. Install the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Gear Replacement (RWD) or Power Steering Gear Replacement (AWD) in Power Steering System.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
