Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  3. Remove the front exhaust pipe with the catalytic converter, automatic transmission only. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (2.2L) in Engine Exhaust.
  4. Remove the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering gear (3).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the upper air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-2.2L (L61).
  8. Remove the power steering pressure hose (3) from the power steering pump pipe (4).
  9. Remove the power steering pressure hose (3) from the vehicle.
