Installation Procedure

  1. Install the steering wheel to the steering column, observing the alignment marks.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install a new steering wheel set nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  3. Remove J 42640  from the steering column. See Special Tools and Equipment .
  4. Connect the horn electrical connector.
  5. Install the steering wheel inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
