Installation Procedure

  1. With the aid of an assistant, install the endgate onto the hinges.

  2. Install the endgate fasteners. Hand tighten only.
    3. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Align the location of the endgate fasteners to alignment marks on the endgate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the endgate support cable fasteners.

    Tighten:  Tighten the endgate support cable fasteners to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the high mounted stop lamp harness into the endgate.

  6. Connect the high mounted stop lamp electrical connector to the high mounted stop lamp.

  7. Install the endgate access panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Access Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the endgate liner. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement .
  9. Close the rear compartment lid.
  10. Close the endgate.
