Removal Procedure

Raise support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

Remove the fasteners that retain the assist step to the assist step support brackets.

Remove the assist step from the assist step support brackets.

Remove the assist step support brackets, if necessary.
Remove the bolts that retain the assist step support brackets to the frame.
