Installation Procedure
- Install the power steering pump bracket and the 3 bolts (1,2,3) to the engine block.
- If the bracket DOES NOT have a dowel pin engaged into a hole in the block, complete the following steps:
- Push the bracket toward the rear of the engine.
- With rearward pressure on the bracket, tighten the bolt (3) snug.
- Tighten the bolt (1) snug.
- Tighten the bolt (2) snug.
- Tighten the bolts that retain the power steering pump bracket to the engine block.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18.5 lb ft).
- Install the generator and the bolt to the power steering pump bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pump and the 3 bolts to the power steering pump bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18.5 lb ft).
- Install the power steering pump drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Generator, Air Conditioning, and Power Steering in Engine Mechanical - 2.0L.
IMPORTANT:
Do not tighten the 3 bolts to the final specification yet. The upper bolt (1) and the rear bolt (2) control the plane of the bracket.
