Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connector for the low coolant level sensor to the surge tank.
  2. Slide the surge tank onto the lower and rail mounting tabs.

  3. Install the surge tank rear retaining clip.

  4. Install the return hose to the surge tank.
  5. Install the clamp at the 2 o'clock position.
  6. Install the coolant air bleed hose to the surge tank.
  7. Install the hose clamp to the 1 o'clock position.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
