Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Disconnect the brake hose from the brake bracket.
- If applicable, disconnect the ABS harness from the brake bracket.
- Loosen the steering knuckle to strut fasteners.
- Disconnect the stabilizer link from the strut assembly. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
- Remove the strut assembly to body attachment nut. Discard the nut.
- Remove the strut to knuckle fasteners. Discard the fasteners.
- Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
- For component replacement, refer to Strut, Strut Component and/or Spring Replacement .
IMPORTANT:
Protect the CV boot during strut removal.
