Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
    2. Fig 1: View Of Right Side Engine Splash Shield

  2. If the vehicle is equipped with all wheel drive, remove the right side engine splash shield in order to access the heat shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body Front End.

  3. Remove the steering gear heat shield bolts.
  4. Remove the steering gear heat shield.
