Removal Procedure

Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

If equipped with a 2.2L (L61) engine, remove the intermediate pipe to muffler nuts.
If equipped with a 3.5L (LX9) engine, remove the rear catalytic converter to muffler nuts.

With the aid of an assistant, remove the muffler from the hangers.
