Installation Procedure

Install the NEW muffler assembly. Refer to Muffler Replacement (Sedan) or Muffler Replacement (Sedan SS) or Muffler Replacement (Maxx, Maxx SS) .
If vehicle is a Malibu sedan, perform the following steps, measure back 87 mm (3.43 in) (a) from the longest point of the tail pipe and cut the tail pipe off at that mark.

From the freshly cut end of the tail pipe measure back to a depth of 27 mm (1.06 in) (b) and make a mark.
Install the tail pipe extension to the 27 mm (1.06 in) (b) mark and weld the tail pipe extension to the tail pipe at that mark.
If vehicle is a Malibu MAXX, perform the following steps, measure back 87 mm (3.43 in) (a) from the longest point of the tail pipe and cut the tail pipe off at that mark
