Removal Procedure

The heated oxygen sensor may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is below 48°C (120°F). Excessive force may damage threads in exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe.

1. Disconnect the HO2S 1 harness connector.
2. Remove the HO2S 1 from the exhaust manifold.
3. Use the J 39194-B  in order to carefully back out the heated oxygen sensor. See Special Tools .
