Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  1. Position the auxiliary generator (4).
  2. Install the auxiliary generator bolts (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the positive cable to the auxiliary generator, perform the following:
    1. Position the positive cable.
    2. Install the positive cable nut.

      Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    3. Slide the boot to cover the terminal stud.
  4. Connect the generator electrical connector.
  5. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  6. Install the upper shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) or Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (6.6L) .
