Circuit/System Testing
Power Window Inoperative - Driver Door
- Ignition ON, command the driver window motor up and down with a scan tool. The driver window should move up and down when commanded.
- If the driver window does not move up and down, replace the DDM.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the DDSA.
Power Window Inoperative - Passenger Door
- Ignition ON, command the passenger window motor up and down with a scan tool. The passenger window should move up and down when commanded.
- If the passenger window does not move up and down, replace the PDM.
- Observe the scan tool driver RF window switch parameter while activating the driver RF window switch to the up and down positions. The reading should change between up and down.
- If the reading does not change between up and down, replace the DDSA.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the passenger window switch.
- Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the passenger window switch ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Connect the harness connector at the passenger window switch.
- Observe the scan tool front psgr. window switch parameter while activating the passenger window switch to the up and down positions. The reading should change between up and down.
- If the reading does not change between up and down, test the appropriate power window switch signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the passenger window switch.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the PDM.
