Circuit/System Testing

Power Window Inoperative - Driver Door

  1. Ignition ON, command the driver window motor up and down with a scan tool. The driver window should move up and down when commanded.
    • If the driver window does not move up and down, replace the DDM.
  2. If all circuits test normal, replace the DDSA.

Power Window Inoperative - Passenger Door

  1. Ignition ON, command the passenger window motor up and down with a scan tool. The passenger window should move up and down when commanded.
    • If the passenger window does not move up and down, replace the PDM.
  2. Observe the scan tool driver RF window switch parameter while activating the driver RF window switch to the up and down positions. The reading should change between up and down.
    • If the reading does not change between up and down, replace the DDSA.
  3. Disconnect the harness connector at the passenger window switch.
  4. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance between the passenger window switch ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  5. Connect the harness connector at the passenger window switch.
  6. Observe the scan tool front psgr. window switch parameter while activating the passenger window switch to the up and down positions. The reading should change between up and down.
    • If the reading does not change between up and down, test the appropriate power window switch signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the passenger window switch.
  7. If all circuits test normal, replace the PDM.
