CAUTION: When performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Failure to observe the correct procedure could cause deployment of the SIR components, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs. CAUTION: Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (SIS). Before applying power to the SIS make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedures could cause SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedure Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the center pillar upper trim panel assembly. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement . Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Garnish Molding Replacement .
1	Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Assembly Bolt (Qty: 2) Tip: Loosen the bolts and slide the sensor out of the key hole slots. Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)

Preliminary Procedure

Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
Remove the center pillar upper trim panel assembly. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Garnish Molding Replacement .

Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Assembly Bolt (Qty: 2)
Tip: Loosen the bolts and slide the sensor out of the key hole slots.

Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
