Installation Procedure

  1. Position the generator to the engine block.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the generator bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine wing harness terminal (4) to the generator stud.
  4. Install the engine wiring harness terminal lead to generator nut (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Position the engine wiring harness lead rubber boot (3).
  6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the generator.
  7. Install the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L61) or Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LZ4, LZ9) .
  8. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  9. Install the air cleaner resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  10. Connect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
