6: This step tests if the instrument panel cluster (IPC) is able to turn ON the Traction Off indicator.

1	Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
2	Turn OFF the ignition for 5 seconds. Turn ON the ignition while observing the Traction Off indicator. Does the Traction Off indicator illuminate for 2 seconds and then turn OFF?	Go to Diagnostic Aids	Go to Step 3
3	Disconnect the harness connector of the traction control system (TCS) switch. Ground the TCS signal circuit at the TCS harness connector. Does the Traction Off indicator illuminate?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 5
4	Replace the TCS switch. Refer to Traction Control Switch Replacement . Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 9	-
5	Test for an open in the TCS switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 9	Go to Step 6
6	Install a scan tool. Select the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Special Functions menu on the scan tool. Command the IPC lamps ON. Does the Traction Off indicator turn ON?	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 7
7	Replace the IPC. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming. Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 9	-
8	Replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming. Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 9	-
9	Turn OFF the ignition for 5 seconds. Turn ON the ignition while observing the Traction Off indicator. Does the Traction Off indicator illuminate for 2 seconds and then turn OFF?	System OK	Go to Step 2
