Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Support the lower control arm with a suitable jack stand.

  5. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector at the wheel speed sensor bracket, if equipped.

  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft link (3) from the front strut (6). Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  8. Remove the front strut nuts (2) from the bolts (5).
  9. Remove the wheel speed sensor bracket (1) from the strut (6).
  10. Remove the strut bolts (5) from the front strut (6).
  11. Separate the front strut (6) from the knuckle (4).

  13. Remove the upper strut nuts (1) from the strut (2).
  14. Remove the front strut assembly (2) from the vehicle.
  15. For servicing the individual strut components, refer to Strut, Strut Component, or Spring Replacement .
