Circuit/System Testing
IMPORTANT:
You must complete the Circuit/System Verification before proceeding with Circuit/System Testing.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than 1 ohm, test the low reference for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the CMP actuator solenoid.
- Test for less than 1 ohm on the high control circuit terminal 1.
- If greater than 1 ohm, test the high control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal replace the CMP actuator solenoid.
- Inspect the CMP actuator. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Cleaning and Inspection and Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Cleaning and Inspection .
- Inspect the engine timing components-Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain and Sprocket Cleaning and Inspection .
