Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose to the vehicle.

  2. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering inlet pipe/hose (2) to the cooler pipe (3).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the power steering pump inlet pipe routing bolt from the engine block. Tighten the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose routing bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in)  .
  4. Remove the right side engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Position the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose to the routing clip and install the nut. Tighten the power steering pipe/hose routing clip nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in)  .

  7. Compress the clamp and connect the power steering pump inlet pipe/hose to the power steering reservoir.
  8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  9. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  10. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
