Circuit/System Testing

  1. Inspect all available vehicle keys that they are correct vehicle keys.
    • If not a correct vehicle key, replace the key.
  2. While viewing the scan tool BCM Data Display, Immobilizer Data, Key Part Number, turn ON the ignition with each of the available vehicle keys. The parameter should read a Key Part Number with all available keys.
    • If only one key results in the parameter reading no Part Number, replace the appropriate key.
  3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B101 Immobilizer Antenna.
  4. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition ON, test for more than 10 V between the serial data circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the serial data circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
  6. Ignition ON. Test for B+ between the B+ circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
  7. If all circuits test normal, replace the B101 Immobilizer Antenna.
