Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    If reinstalling the old sensor, coat the threads with anti-sieze compound. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  1. Install the nitrogen oxide sensor (1) into the exhaust and tighten to 45 (33 lb ft).
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Position the nitrogen oxide sensor module (3) then install the fasteners (2) and tighten to 10 (89 lb in)
  4. Perform the scan tool nitrogen oxide sensor reset procedure after replacing the sensor(s).
  5. Perform the diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration enable. Refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable .
  6. Perform the glow plug control module programming and setup. Refer to Glow Plug Control Module Programming And Setup (LGH OR LML) .
  7. Install any components or connectors that have been removed or replaced during diagnosis.
  8. Perform any adjustment, programming, or setup procedures that are required when a component or module is removed or replaced.
  9. Clear the DTCs
  10. Duplicate the Conditions for Running the DTC and use the Freeze Frame/Failure Records, if applicable, in order to verify the DTC does not reset. If the DTC resets or another DTC is present. Refer to Diagnostic Code Index and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
