Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT:

    The ignition switch groove must be correctly aligned with the ignition lock cylinder tongue.

  1. Install the ignition switch (4) to the steering column assembly (2).
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the ignition switch to steering column assembly retaining screws (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  3. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector (1).
  4. Install the Steering Column Trim Covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .
  5. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Disabling the SIR in SIR.
