Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill Diesel) .
  3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (2).

    CAUTION:

    Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  4. Remove the ECT sensor from the cylinder head.
