Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS3, LS7)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS9) .
  2. Remove the remote power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LS3, LS7)  or Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LS9) .
  3. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (LS3, LS7) .
  4. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS3, LS7) .
  5. Fig 1: Power Steering Pump Rear Bracket, Power Steering Pump & Mounting Bolts

  6. Remove the power steering pump bolts (3) from the power steering pump (2).
  7. Remove the following components from the power steering pump rear bracket (1):
    • The power steering pump front bracket (3)
    • The power steering pump (2)
