CAUTION:
Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.
Preliminary Procedures
- Remove the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front
.
- Place drain pans under the vehicle.
- Remove as much power steering fluid from the reservoir as possible.
- Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering fluid reservoir. Cap the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose.
- Disconnect the power steering fluid cooler outlet hose from the power steering fluid reservoir. Cap the power steering fluid cooler outlet hose.

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Procedure
- Release the clip and slide the power steering fluid reservoir off of the power steering fluid reservoir bracket.
- Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
- Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
