Installation Procedure

- Position new or existing passenger airbag module (1) to the chute (2) on new or existing instrument panel.
- Push the passenger airbag module (1) into the chute (2) until the hooks of airbag module is inserted in the holes of chute completely.
- Install the passenger airbag module bolts (1) and tighten to 10 (89 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel outer air outlet duct. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Install the windshield defroster nozzle. Refer to Windshield Defroster Nozzle Replacement .
- Install the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
- After replacing the module, fully deploy the old module before disposal.
WARNING:
Never install the passenger airbag module into the instrument panel assembly that airbag module chute is cut. This may cause incorrect deployment when the passenger airbag is deployed.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the passenger airbag is installed into the chute completely.
