Front Side Door Outside Handle Rod Adjustment

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Replacement
  2. Remove the front side door lock cover. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Cover Replacement .
1 Front Side Door Outside Handle Rod Retainer

Procedures

  1. Remove the water deflector.
  2. Use a flat-head tool, open the retaining clip from the threaded end of the rod that is connected to the latch for the outside handle.
2 Front Side Door Outside Handle Rod

Procedures

  1. Position the outside handle rod into the retaining clip.
  2. Adjust the handle rod by removing the threaded end of the rod up or down in the retaining clip.
  3. Closed the retaining clip over the threaded end of the handle rod.
  4. Inspect the door locking system for proper operation before installing the trim panel.
