Removal Procedure

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Block the drive wheels.
  3. Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the left rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Remove the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  7. Disconnect the electronic parking brake control module electrical connector.

  9. Disconnect the parking brake front cable nut (1).

  11. Remove the electronic parking brake control module bracket nuts (1).
  12. NOTE:

    A small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant on the bracket insulator to ease removal.

  13. Remove the electronic parking brake control module and bracket assembly from the lower insulator stud.

  15. Remove the electronic parking brake control module bolts (1).
  16. Remove the electronic parking brake control module from the bracket.
