Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. NOTE:

    It is not necessary to remove both front lower control arms.

  4. Remove one of the front lower control arms from the vehicle. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .

    NOTE:

    Do not scratch the front spring surface.

  6. Use the J-33432-B  compressor (3) and J-33432-97  adapters (1, 2) to compress the front spring.

    NOTE:

    Do not reuse the bolts.

  8. Remove the front spring retainer bolts (1) and retainers. Discard the bolts.

  10. Remove the J-33432  compressor (3) and front spring (4) from the vehicle.
  11. If replacing the front spring, remove the J-33432-B  compressor (3) and J-33432-97  adapters (1, 2) from the front transverse spring.
  12. If replacing the front spring, measure and record the gap between the surface of the front spring and the spring adjuster pads.
  13. If replacing the front spring, remove the spring adjusters.
